Approximately €1.7m worth of funding has been secured by Leitrim County Council as Lead Partner on behalf of the County Leitrim Peace IV Partnership.
Supporting Kiltyclogher and Cashel Communities relates to the Building Positive Relations theme. The aim of this project is to build positive relationships between the communities of Kiltyclogher and its hinterland in county Leitrim and Cashel in Co Fermanagh.
The programme will be cross-border, cross-community and will be inter-generational. It will facilitate people from both areas to tell their stories and their experiences before, during and after the Troubles & how the experience of closed border roads and the disruption of daily life affected them. The outcomes of this process will be presented in a drama and multi-media format at the end of the project.
An Arts Engagement Worker has been employed to work with the assistance of the local community on both sides of the border.
