Leitrim County Council as the Roads Authority for the County, has responsibility for the maintenance of all public roads in the County. Leitrim County Council has, under the Roads Act 1993 – 1998, the Road Traffic Acts, 1961 – 2004 and associated Regulations, the duty of maintaining and improving the public roads network in the County. The aim of Leitrim county Council as road authority is to provide, within the framework of a balanced, integrated and sustainable transport policy, for the safe and efficient movement of persons and goods by roads in their available finances.
