How To Make An Environmental Complaint

When making an environmental complaint, please include the following details:

  • Nature of the complaint,
  • Time of the incident,
  • Location of the incident,
  • Return contact details

To make an environmental complaint you have 3 options as follows:

1. Email your complaint to  

2. Make a written complaint on the Environmental Complaints Form and address to

  • Leitrim County Council
  • Áras an Chontae
  • Carrick-on-Shannon
  • Co. Leitrim

3. Ring Environmental Hotline 1890 205 205.  The Hotline is staffed during normal office hours while an appropriate member of staff during the next working day will deal with messages left outside office hours.

Members of the public can now report large scale dumping sites, fly-tipping and abandoned illegal dumps by phoning 1850 365 121. Calls will be followed up by local authorities, the Gardaí and the EPA.
