The PROPEL programme, run by Enterprise Ireland is a one year course designed to provide ambitious entrepreneurs with the necessary business skills to establish a successful global business. The course is open to existing entrepreneurs located in or planning to to locate in Leitrim or the 5 border counties.

Leitrim Economic Development Group
The Leitrim Economic Development Group is comprised of the enterprise development agencies and is chaired by the Leitrim County Manager. The Economic Development Group is a sub-group of Leitrim County Development Board. The Group meet on a quarterly basis to review economic development in Leitrim and to work jointly on a number of initiatives to promote economic development and enterprise/job creation in Leitrim. The group are currently involved in the following activities:
- Preparation of a 3 year action plan for economic development as part of the County Development Board Action Plan 2009-2012
- Organisation of events to highlight the range of supports available for people wishing to set up/relocate their business to Leitrim as well as supports to existing business. A joint Enterprise Clinic was held in Spring 2009 attracting approximately 40 people interested in setting up a business in Leitrim. Enterprise Ireland and the County Enterprise Board are currently working with a number of people who attended this event.
Leitrim County Council, in conjunction with the Enterprise Development agencies, have detailed information on all you need to know about: setting up a business in Leitrim, Commercial Rural Renewal Tax Incentive scheme properties in Leitrim, exisiting businesses in Leitrim and the range of supports available to business on the Leitrim portal site at www.leitrim.ie
