Leitrim Arts Plan

Leitrim County Council wants your views on the arts in Leitrim

Leitrim County Council is currently in the process of developing its third Arts Strategy. This plan will set out the strategy, policies and programmes for the development of the arts that Leitrim County Council will follow for the next five years. Given that the Arts Plan shapes the direction of the council’s arts policy for the next number of years, it is important that sufficient time and effort is given over to reviewing progress over the last few years, consulting with stakeholders and the general public and providing the opportunity for people to comment on plans for the future.

To start the process, the Arts Office will host a series of four public consultation sessions.

  • 7pm, Tuesday 11th October – Leitrim Sculpture Centre, Manorhamilton
  • 7pm, Wednesday 12th October – The Dock, Carrick on Shannon
  • 7pm Thursday 13th October – Cornmill Theatre, Carrigallen
  • 7pm, Friday 14th October – Drumkeeran Community Centre, Drumkeeran

This is your arts plan for the county so your views and opinions are really important to us in developing the Arts Strategy for 2012-2017.

The meetings are open to all and we particularly welcome participation from artists, members of community and voluntary groups and arts organisations in the county.

If you can’t make any of the meetings, we very much welcome written contributions by post or email before Friday 28th October to Leitrim County Council Arts Office, Áras an Chontae, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim, or email to arts@leitrimcoco.ie.

For more information contact the Arts Office at Leitrim County Council on 071 96 21694 or arts@leitrimcoco.ie.
