Leitrim County Council had been advised on Thursday 24th (around mid day) that there was an expected rainfall of approximately 16 mm over the next following number of days in Lough Allen area with the lake level not expected to change. Current forecast indicates rain heavy at times for Monday in the west with showery conditions on Tuesday followed by some heavy rain overnight with rain clearing in places. However, at this time there are no weather warnings in place for rainfall in this area.
The river Shannon at Carrick on Shannon is currently at its lowest level in the last week, down approximately 120mm on this day last week despite the level rising somewhat during the intervening days.
Leitrim County Council will continue to monitor the situation.
