Shannon Water Levels - Update 10th March, 2014

Given the current 5 day forecast, Leitrim Co. Council expects water levels to fall slowly steadily from the current level (2.4 or 41.280 Malin in Carrick on Shannon) to approx.1.9 or 40.78 next Monday (17th March). For comparison purposes, peak level in Carrick on Shannon in 2009 was 42.663 Malin and in Leitrim 42.801 Malin.

Levels in the Drumsna to Dromod area (currently 39.399m Malin and falling)should continue to fall steadily until next Monday (17th  March). Peak level in Drumsna in 2009 was 40.373 Malin.

Leitrim Co. Council now considers the risk of flooding from natural causes to be very small between now and next October. No further notices are planned between now and then.
