Leitrim County Council is pleased to announce that the first Public Charge Point in the region for charging electric vehicles has been installed and is now operational in Carrick on Shannon. It is located alongside the wall towards the rear of the Council Headquarters, Aras an Chontae, opposite the entrance to Carrick Craft.
This Charge Point will provide electric vehicles with full charge, which takes between 6 to 8 hours, depending on the type of vehicle. The Charge Point can charge 2 vehicles simultaneously.
To use the facility it is necessary to register on the website www.esb.ie/ecars to obtain a Smart Card which must be used for this purpose. The ESB website also has a map which shows the network of charging points which have been rolled out or in the process of being provided.
