Solas Gallery 
From 7pm until 10pm we will be celebrating our Diversity.  All those associated with the gallery will be invited to share some of their talents in an informal setting. There will be spontaneous performances throughout the evening with attendees contributing to the interval refreshments. We are looking for contributions from our membership and also our regular audience / invitees.  Culture night at Solas has traditionally taken the format of an intimate gathering where people can share their talents in a supportive environment.

Carrick on Shannon

The Dock
A full evening of events starts at 6pm when The Dock will serve a colourful and eclectic mixture of events for all ages drawn from the broad artistic year round programme offered by one of Ireland’s leading Arts Centres.   We welcome one and all to come along and dip into a selection of fun and interactive activities that will include visual art, drama, dance, music and more.  You can try some drawing, singing or even try your hand at acting or craft making. The only condition is that you bring a sense of fun and adventure with you and leave your inhibitions at the door.  Entry will be free and anyone who wishes to attend is most welcome. The more the merrier.

Leitrim Design House
To celebrate Culture night The Leitrim Design House invites you to experience some Asian Culture and traditions such as techniques in origami & tai chi. Entry will be free and we look forward to welcoming everyone to this event from 5.30pm onwards

St George’s Heritage Centre
Explore the secrets of Carrick on Shannon at 6.30pm with a walking tour of the town and find out more about its history. Carrick on Shannon’s heritage gem, St George’s Heritage and Visitor Centre will be open from 10am until after the walk, includingits current exhibition on the book, The Plantation of Leitrim(1585-1670)by Dr Gerard MacAtasney. Walk starts from Centre.

The Reading Room
At 7.30pm The Reading Room Bookshop would like to invite all local Book Clubs and their members for an evening of discussion and book recommendations - a sharing of the good the bad and the just down right brilliant books they have been reading!  Also, if you anyone was thinking of joining a book club this would be an excellent opportunity to meet existing clubs and find out exactly just what goes on! VEC Traditional Music Education Programme
Come along and try an instrument at 7pm at the Mayflower Community Centre where course director Mossie Martin has a hoard of instruments for anyone to come and try their hand at playing. The night will also feature demonstrations by leading local musicians and finish with an impromptu session. Refreshments served.

Rainbow Ballroom of Romance
From 8pm-9.30pm try out some Old Tyme dancing at the iconic Rainbow Ballroom of Romance with dance instructors Pat and Mary Moohan. Whether you are young or old, a beginner or advanced this will be a fun evening for all.

Leitrim Sculpture Centre
All day from 11am to 8pm the LSC Gallery hosts an exhibition “The Cutting Rooms II”, featuring Mary T. Keown. Between 5.30pm and 7.30pm there will be Workshop Demos and Participation for children including Blacksmithing with Michael Budd, Children’s Clay Modelling with Ross Cochrane, Silversmith Open Studio with Soraya Ricalde, Metal Casting small scale with Nick Hughes, Adobe or 'Cob' oven making with Jackie McKenna and Stone-Lettercutting with Seamus Dunbar. As well as the chance of meeting local and national practitioners, there will be local food and refreshments available.

The Glens Centre
From 8pm all are welcome to enjoy a free mix of words, theatre, performance poetry and music in a cabaret style setting with Brian Leyden, Donal O'Kelly, Stephen Murphy, Anna Houston and Friends.

Gather at the Library at 6.30pm where Bernadette Layden will tell humorous yarns, together with tales of the supernatural  that have been told around the turf fires for generations, followed by refreshments.

Mohill Library
At 6.30pm the Library hosts Ceol agus Rince-an evening of local music and dance. The O’Neill School of Irish Dancing will give a lively and fun display of Irish Dancing, from hard shoe style to set dances! Accompanied by local musicians, this night is sure to be one filled with local culture, a party atmosphere and plenty of fun!
