The Office of Public Works is working in partnership with their consultants, Local Authorities and other stakeholders to deliver the CFRAM Programme to meet Ireland's obligations under the 2007 EU Floods Directive, in accordance with the European Communities (Assessment & Management of Flood Risks) Regulations, 2010 S.I No. 122 of 2010, which transposed the EU "Floods" Directive into Irish Law, as amended by S.I. No. 495 of 2015.
The study will focus on areas known to have experienced flooding in the past and areas that may be subject to flooding in the future either due to development pressures or climate change. The final output from the study will be Catchment Flood Risk Management Plans, which will define the current and future flood risk.
