What is LCDC?
Leitrim Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) has 17 members. They come from 4 backgrounds, Loval Government, Community, Local Development and Statutory. All are involved in delivering services locally or actively involved in local community interests. (Click here for members details)
What does LCDC Do?
Its first role was to prepare the community element of a 6 year Local Economic & Community Plan (LECP) for its Local Authority Area. This plan is now finalised (Click here to download).
Its second role is to implement and monitor the community elements of this 6 year Local, Economic & Community Plan.
The Local Community Development Committee also has a general role in seeking to ensure effectiveness, consistency, co-ordination between publically funded and community development programmes. It has a role in co-ordinating, managing and overseeing the implementation of local and community development programmes for e.g. Social Inclusion and Community Activiation Progrmme (SICAP) & LEADER.
